Candida albicans (commonly known as yeast) is a fungal organism that lives naturally in your mouth, gastrointestinal tract and skin. The extent of its growth is usually kept in check by other friendly bacterial flora that also inhabit the human body. This system of checks and balances is an organic part of the body's immune system.

Yeast infections, or more correctly, the uncontrolled growth of Candida albicans, develops when the immune system is not working properly. This failure of the immune system can have many causes, ranging from the minor imbalance brought about by stress, to weakness in the system as a result of illness. Taking antibiotics and other contraceptives often set the stage for the excessive growth of fungal organisms because these medications indiscriminately destroy the friendly bacteria that usually keep candida in check. Some 80% of women will develop symptoms of Candida overgrowth after taking antibiotics, usually in the form of a bladder infection. This is because the female urinary tract provides an environment ideally suited to the growth of Candida.

Other factors, such as consuming unhealthy amounts of sugars and carbohydrates, also compromise the immune system and can result in the excessive growth of fungal organisms

Symptoms of Candida overgrowth.
The appearance of symptoms is associated with a number of clearly defined ailments or medical conditions. These include diseases such as AIDS, herpes simplex, diabetes mellitus, and even as benign a condition as pregnancy, which often brings changes to a woman's immune system. Lifestyle also affects the growth of fungal organisms, with the taking of prescription drugs (antibiotics, corticosteroids, et cetera) and female sex hormones the most common cause. Excessive consumption of sugar and other unhealthy foodstuffs is also a cause of Candida overgrowth. Even the wearing of tight clothing and the over-use of personal hygiene lotions, antiperspirants and deodorants can bring about a flowering of Candida albicans.

Signs that the growth of Candida in the system has become unhealthy include the appearance of skin infections such as eczema, acne and psoriasis, as well as un-explained conditions such as loss of concentration, tiredness and exhaustion, anxiety, mood swings, headaches, outbursts of anger, and cravings for certain foodstuffs, especially sugar. Obvious conditions such as urinary tract infections, allergic reactions, problems with digestion, and infections of the mouth, nose and respiratory system, are also symptoms of Candida overgrowth.

The appearance of any of these symptoms calls for a restoration of the checks and balances normally found in a healthy immune system, and this can be done by controlling the growth of Candida albicans and other fungal organisms in the body.

What is Candida
Candida is a yeast type of fungus, which can cause thrush. It is normally present in a healthy person but, when present in excess, can cause disease or reduced immunity. The problem begins when several factors in our lifestyle cause the Candida to grow in outstanding numbers and it overtakes all the other micro organisms. One of the biggest factors in the development of Candida overgrowth is the overuse of antibiotics. Antibiotics kill our healthy bacteria as well as the unhealthy bacteria and the yeasts are resistant to antibiotics. Normally our healthy bacterium help keep a normal balance, but if it is wiped out with an antibiotic, then this allows the Candida to proliferate. Candida affects the moist areas of the body, such as the mouth, vagina, skin folds, groin and axilla. The nails can also be affected. This is known as paronychia, (abscess or inflammation of the nail). Candida also grows in the colon. The most frequently affected organ is the brain, but Candida also affects these systems: the digestive, nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, reproductive, urinary, endocrine, lymphatic and musculoskeletal. Symptoms can vary from one person to another and often move back and forth between systems within the same individual. One day you may experience symptoms in the musculoskeletal system and the next day it could be the digestive system, etc. In the First Stage of Candida, the mucous membrane areas of the body may be infected. Each day more people seem to be allergic to everything in their environment. Repeated bouts of bronchitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, and strep or staph infections may be typical. Mononucleosis and pneumonia may also be noted. It is easy to perceive that each of these successive illnesses requires more and more antibiotics, which may open the door for further Candida overgrowth. Talk about a vicious circle!

Candida Symptoms include infections of the mouth, vagina, nose, and Respiratory System. Besides vaginal infections, severe P.M.S., urinary tract infections, body rashes, acne, and oral thrush, other Candida symptoms include allergies to foods, dust, mold, fungus, yeast, inhalants, and chemicals are the most common symptoms. The Symptoms of thrush can be really harsh. Thrush appears as a whitish-grey coating on the tongue and on the insides of the cheeks and gums. The coating is not easy to wipe off with a cotton swab. Vigorous attempts to wipe it off may leave a bleeding, raw surface. In severe cases, the mouth may be sore. Candida commonly occurs after treatment with oral contraceptives or antibiotics since these drugs alter the normal bacterial balance in the body. After antibiotics, 80% of women have evidence of Candida whilst around one third of those will have symptoms.

So how can you prevent Candida Overgrowth from happening to you or help yourself if it has already overgrown? First and foremost you want to refrain from taking antibiotics unless it is absolutely necessary. Try to find other healthy alternatives to infections etc., like Dr.Rahim`s Immune Booster to fight infections, inflammations, viruses and bacteria in a natural way.. If you must take an antibiotic for some reason, you should always be sure to take acidophilus supplement during the course of the treatment. This will help keep healthy bacteria present in your body. Taking acidophilus on a regular basis is a good idea even if you aren't on an antibiotic. The second most important factor is diet. A diet high in sugar is a haven for Candida. Eliminating sugars and refined foods is essential if you have Candida overgrowth. Initially even fruits and high carbohydrate foods may need to be eliminated and then reintroduced to the diet later as you get better. Meat, eggs, vegetables and yogurt are what is best to stick with and small amounts of whole, healthy carbohydrates such as brown rice or potatoes. Most people with Candida are also suffering from nutritional deficiencies and correcting your deficiencies can help you in your battle. It is also essential to keep your home environment healthy and not-toxic. Chemicals weaken the immune system and if the immune system is weak this also allows the Candida to proliferate. So keeping your home chemical free by using non-toxic and natural cleaning supplies, personal care products etc. will help your body stay stronger. It is also important to keep the area infected with Candida dry and clean. And remember; don't forget to take Candiplex 1 & 2 and follow Dr. Rahim's 6 step deep cleansing detoxification programs for the best outcome. Cleanse your entire body systematically. Eliminate toxins from your organs. Get restored immunity. Improved digestion. Rejuvenated skin. Relief from allergy symptoms. Increased alertness. More energy and a restored quality of life.
